T. B. Joshua: Hard times may test me, but cannot destroy me

The founder of The Synagogue Church of all Nations, Temitope Joshua (popularly known as T.B. Joshua), has described the recent incident in his church as a hard time that cannot destroy him.

Writing on the church’s official Facebook page, Tuesday,  Mr. Joshua said hard times should be counted as joy. “It is through hard times that you gain the necessary experience and maturity to handle whatever responsibility given you,” Mr. Joshua said.

“We are most likely to go astray from God and forget him when things are easy with us in the world because we often become proud and stupid with wealth and pleasure. “God visits His people with hard times that they may learn His way. His ways, though hard to the ungodly men, are desirable and profitable because they lead us to safety unto eternal life,”

President Jonathan appeals to teachers to shelve plans for an industrial action, says Nigeria is Ebola free

President Goodluck Jonathan has appealed to teachers to shelve any plan for an industrial action over Ebola scare, as he sought to dispel concerns on the status of the deadly virus in Nigeria.

The president said Nigeria has contained the virus, and that the government’s alertness would ensure no Nigerian contracts the virus if Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian-American who brought Ebola to Nigeria, had arrived the country today.

“Presently there is no case of Ebola in Nigeria, nobody in Nigeria has Ebola now. All the people that had the symptoms of Ebola have recovered. Out of 19, we lost seven and the others have recovered. Yes, there are a few people we are observing,” he said.

Nigerian teachers to skip 2014 World Teachers’ Day celebration

The Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT, has said its members will not celebrate this year’s World Teachers’ Day which comes up on October 5th.

The NUT president, Alogba Olukoya, made this known on Tuesday while briefing journalists in Abuja.

The day is marked every year to celebrate teachers and the teaching profession.

The NUT president said that the decision came in the face of the Ebola Virus Disease outbreak in Nigeria.

NUT reject Sept 22 resumption date, give conditions

The Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT, has said that its members would only resume on the government’s preferred date of September 22, if teachers are properly trained on Ebola prevention measures which actually makes sense to me.

The NUT said its members prefer an extended resumption date, preferably the initial October 13, to be sure the deadly virus poses no risk in schools. But where the government insists on September 22, teachers will only return to work if they receive sufficient training about Ebola, the union said.

This was stated by the President of the NUT, Alogba Olukoya, on Tuesday while briefing journalists in Abuja. Mr. Olukoya said if the September 22 resumption date stands, he would direct teachers to resume after they were sufficiently trained on safety measures to prevent the spread of the disease and schools were provided with the necessary preventive and protective gadgets.

Ebola: WHO tells Nigeria and Other affected countries to use survivors’ blood to treat patients

The World Health Organization, WHO, has given countries hit by Ebola outbreak the go-ahead to use the blood of Ebola survivors in combating the highly infectious and deadly virus.

There is no cure for Ebola, and the virus has killed more than 2,000 people in the latest outbreak in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. Hundreds have also recovered from the virus. Medical experts say survivors develop antibodies of the virus in their blood, capable of providing a fair degree of immunity from further infection.

Vaccines for the virus could be available for use on the frontline by November, the world health body said. But as the world’s seeks desperate ways of containing the spread, WHO said Friday that the affected countries should use the blood of patients who recover from the Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, in treating other patients.

U.K. Commission probes Oyakhilome's Christ Embassy over payments

The imminent breakup of their marriage may be the least of the problems popular mega-church pastor, Chris Oyakhilome, and his wife, Anita, are facing at the moment as the United Kingdom agency is investigating the UK branch of their church, Christ Embassy, over controversial payments.

The United Kingdom Charity Commission has launched a probe into the transfer of at least N941 million (£3.6 million) by the church to overseas entities between 2008 and 2012. In a statement on Wednesday, the Charity Commission said it has opened a statutory inquiry to investigate Christ Embassy over “a number of serious concerns relating to the use of charitable funds, in particular large connected party payments and the potential misapplication of grant funding.”

According to the Charity Commission, which is the regulator of charities in England and Wales, statutory inquiries are only opened to investigate “the most serious” regulatory breaches.

Ebola: Doctors At Isolation Center In Lagos Say N1.9bn Promised By FG Was Never Received

Following countering reports from both the Federal Government and the Ministry of Health in Nigeria claiming almost N1.9bn in funding was released to fight the Ebola virus, doctors working at the isolation center at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) in Yaba, Lagos, say that they are yet to receive any financial support, and as conditions there deterioriates, so does staff morale.

Reaching out today, a resident doctor working at the center, who asked to remain anonymous, disclosed that the money allegedly sent from the Federal Government has yet to reach patients suffering in Lagos. "The money said to have been released by the Federal Government is still 'on its way' to Lagos," he said.

The resident also revealed some of the appalling conditions at the center and the callous nature with which the medical staff at the isolation center are being treated, faulting the Ministry of Health for their attempts to mislead the public on the crisis and downplay the efforts of the staff there. PASTOR T. B. JOSHUA: EBOLA is manufactured by Satan

Nigeria’s controversial preacher, T.B. Joshua of The Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), has declared that the killer disease Ebola currently ravaging West Africa is from ‘the pit of hell’.

According to Mr. Joshua, who, on Sunday, led his congregation in prayer for the nations and individuals affected by the disease, time was up for the ‘strange ailment’ and life would soon return to normal for the affected countries.

“The so called strange ailment coming from three nations – Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia… satan is the manufacturer, the source,” Joshua defiantly declared to the faithful.

“Begin to capture the covenant of that strange sickness,” the cleric then enjoined the congregation. “Command that strange ailment to come out and go to the pit of hell, in the name of Jesus Christ!” Continue................

Ebola Virus Outbreak: FG bans transportation of corpses from one state to another

The Nigerian government has prohibited the transportations of corpses from one state to another as well as from another country to Nigeria as a strong measure to prevent the Ebola virus from spreading beyond Lagos.

The Minister of State for Health, Kairu Alhassan, told a traditional leaders stakeholders meeting in Kano on the polio eradication, that government decided to make sure that all dead bodies were buried wherever they died so that the chances of transporting the problems either from within or outside would be curtailed.

Mr. Alhassan explained that there was no dispute between Nigeria and America over the issue of drugs. He said that as it was, the Americans were using what they had on their people on trial basis, and there was no way Nigeria would accept and give what was inauthentic to its citizenry. Important Information: Salt Therapy For Ebola Is a Dangerous Rumor, Please Disregard

Fellow Nigerians please stop creating a panic attack by spreading a rumor that Ebola had entered Abuja and Edo State and that we all should bath with salt and even drink some.

So i recieved loads and loads of calls, BCs, Pings etc.. this morning and everyone warning me to drink salt and bath with it, I even tried to educate them about the nature of the virus but they wouldn't listen and i even heard heard Nigerians have started bathing with salt since 2am and that salt is now a scarce commodity.

Ebola is not an airborne disease and most importantly, its not a worm, so drinking salt cannot prevent or eliminate the virus, See important facts about the virus after the jump.......

The effort has yielded little, while global attention has gradually receded.

Obama: It's Too early to send Ebola drug to Africa

US President Barack Obama said it is "premature" to send an experimental medicine for the treatment of Ebola to West Africa, as Liberia declared a state of emergency amid an outbreak that shows no signs of slowing.

Obama said on Wednesday that he lacked enough information to green-light a promising medicine called ZMapp that was already used on two American aid workers who saw their conditions improve by varying degrees.

"We've got to let the science guide us and I don't think all the information is in on whether this drug is helpful," Obama said. "The Ebola virus, both currently and in the past, is controllable if you have a strong public health infrastructure in place."

Katy Perry throws major shade at Kim Kardashian

While discussing some of the costumes her dancer’s wear on her ‘Prism’ tour, Katy Perry may have just thrown major shade at Kim Kardashian.

Katy Perry discussed life on the road and how Kim Kardashian inspired part of her “Prism” tour in a brand-new interview. Katy reveals that she drew inspiration from Kim’s famous backside for some of the controversial costumes featured in her show. However, the “inspiration” Katy talks about sounds like a diss. Did Katy really call Kim’s butt “plastic?”
In the August issue of Rolling Stone, Katy addresses the critics who claim she’s culturally insensitive for having her dancers dress up as “big-bootied mummies” during a number on her “Prism” tour.
“As far as the mummy thing, I based it on plastic surgery,” Katy tells the mag. “Look at someone like Kim Kardashian or Ice-T’s wife, Coco. Those girls aren’t African-American. But it’s actually a representation of our culture wanting to be plastic, and that’s why there’s bandages and it’s mummies.”

Exclusive: Karrueche Tran Dumps Chris Brown

Karrueche Tran has dumped Chris Brown and changed her number. According to TMZ, Karrueche has not only broken up with him but also changed her number.

Sources say Karrueche exploded when Chris recently  "liked" 2 fan photos on Instagram of Rihanna and him together.

But Rihanna was only a small part of Karrueche's problems with Chris.  We're told she was unhappy for a long time ... as sources put it, because "Chris acts immature, like a child."  She thinks he's ruining his life by spending more time partying than making music.

Chris' reaction to the break up has been breathtaking.  He went to St. Tropez  this week and took a very good friend of Karrueche's along for the ride.  And he made a point to be photographed with her ... making sure Karrueche would see it.

Karrueche's reaction was not jealousy.  We're told she's changed her phone number specifically so Chris couldn't contact her.

Photo: Miley Cyrus Posts Topless Photo on Her Instagram to Debunk Death Hoax

Miley Cyrus death rumors started circulating online over the weekend, with scammers "reporting" on the hoax and some fans believing it, pointing out that Cyrus hadn't posted anything on social media in three days.

Well, the Miley drought is officially over -- not only is the "Bangerz" star alive, but she's topless in a desert. Just another day in the life of Miley.

The death hoax started with a click-grabbing scam on Facebook that read, "(SHOCKING) Miley Cyrus Found Dead in Her Los Angeles Home! Country singer Miley Cyrus found overdosed this afternoon in her Los Angeles home."

You'd think "country singer" would have been enough of a tip that whoever wrote this had no idea what they were talking about -- she only retains a slight country twang from her daddy Billy Cyrus -- but viral news needs no truth to spread.

Fortunately, Cyrus herself put the rumors to rest when she returned to Instagram, uploading a slew of pics, including one where she goes topless in the desert. But unlike Gaga, Miley's not ready to #FreeTheNipple just yet: She turned her back to the camera, unlike the more revealing Instagram shot she shared earlier this year.

Khloe Kardashian & Sister, Kendall Jenner Call Their Mom Kris Jenner A ‘Whore’ On ‘KUWTK’

Calling your mother a “whore” is certainly not the way to talk about the woman who gave you life, but on the upcoming episode of Keeping Up With Kardashians, Khloe and Kendall call their mom just that!

In the clip, Khloe and Kendall argue with their sister Kim about mom Kris cleaning up after Kendall’s dog. Kim was definitely on Team Kris, but Khloe and Kendall backed each other. Khloe thought that Kim and Kris were just “two peas in a pod,” while Kim thought Kendall should be thanking Kris for all she does. That’s when Khloe dropped the “whore” bomb. “Listen, if you whore yourself out that much and have six kids, you should have repercussions,” Khloe told Kim. Then Kendall backed her up with, “Yeah, that whore.”

After Khloe and Kendall called their mom a “whore,” Kim was understandably shocked.

Concerning the Kris diss, Kim told the tighter than ever sisters, “Well isn’t Kendall turning into a mini- Khloe?” It definitely seems to be looking that way! Kendall sure has Khloe’s brutally honest attitude, that’s for sure!
