Super Eagles striker Osazie Odemwinge faces considerations by the The
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) of a life ban over his recent
misdemeanor on twitter regarding his exclusion from the provisional 32
man list for the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa next month.
The
West Brom striker took to Twitter on Sunday to express his
disappointment at being dropped, attacking the NFF, Keshi and a host of
other important football personalities in a lengthy rant.
Reports
indicate that Osaze will be referred to the federation’s disciplinary
committee who will investigate and make recommendations to the executive
committee for the next line of action.
A
top official of the NFF who prefers to remain anonymous said that Osaze
would not be allowed to go unpunished for insulting the NFF, Keshi and
the Eagles captain Joseph Yobo on social media, stressing that the West
Brom star really took it too far and that he must pay for his action.
General
Secretary of the NFF, Musa Amadu, who refused to comment on Osaze’s
rant, described it as a big distraction to the Nations Cup plans.
He said “Going to AFCON and doing well is what we are thinking of now not a player’s ranting.”
