Khloe Kardashian's Husband, Lamar Odom's DRUG SAGA

As you already know, Lamar's been battling addiction for at least 2 years and even reluctantly agreed to go to rehab in San Diego a year ago although he bailed after 3 weeks.

Multiple sources tell us Lamar has gone off the hinges since basketball season ended and he became a free agent.

We're told his drug addiction is the core reason why his marriage to Khloe has fallen apart.

Lamar Odom has been deep into crack cocaine for at least 2 years.

Sources say Lamar's crack use was extreme before he went to rehab, but he cleaned up his act during the basketball season that just ended.  Sources say shortly after he hung up his jersey, he started again with a bang.

Khloe threw Lamar out of the house a few days ago after he rejected an attempt at an intervention.

He was later spotted driving into the couple’s neighborhood on Aug. 26, and he seemed to be back for good. Lamar’s reunion with Khloe that day was so emotional that it left the NBA star in tears.

“He broke down, literally broke town in tears when he was with her yesterday,” a source close to Lamar tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “He has more shame than anything. Khloe held him, and she cried too. It’s a sob fest.

“He’s ashamed of himself and feels like he’s let a lot of people down,” the source adds.

It seems like Lamar might be ready to change, and Khloe is so strong and loyal that it’s possible she will continue to stand by him and see him through this.

According to the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept., Odom was released from custody at 8:33 AM after he was busted for DUI earlier today.  However, it's unclear if Odom has actually left the station yet.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... officers at the scene smelled alcohol on Lamar and believe he was under the influence of both drugs and alcohol.  The sources say Lamar's driving and conduct were consistent with drugs.   We're told there were no drugs or alcohol found in Lamar's car ... only cigarettes, 2 bottles of cologne and other innocuous items.

Lamar Odom was arrested for "driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs" early Friday morning

The bust occurred in the San Fernando Valley at 3:54 AM.  Lamar -- who was driving a white Mercedes SUV -- was popped by the California Highway Patrol and taken to a nearby station, where he was booked and is being held on $15,000 bail.

He was pulled over on the 101 Freeway for going too slow -- 50 MPH.  Cops say Odom had been driving in a "serpentine manner."

Lamar initially did not respond to cops, and drove 3 exits before finally coming to a stop.  Law enforcement sources tell TMZ he showed obvious signs of intoxication. 

Lamar failed numerous field sobriety tests. 

When Lamar was booked, we're told he refused all chemical tests.

Lamar's booking sheet shows he is 6'10" and 235 lbs.
